Energy Engineer

Position Overview

GS Energy Group is seeking an Energy Engineer to support building performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability projects across commercial, institutional, industrial, and public-sector facilities. This role involves technical analysis, field assessments, HVAC system evaluations, and development of energy conservation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform energy audits and building performance assessments
  • Conduct HVAC system evaluations and field investigations
  • Develop energy conservation measures (ECMs) and savings calculations
  • Support utility incentive and rebate programs
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and project documentation
  • Analyze utility consumption and operational data
  • Participate in site visits and client meetings
  • Support decarbonization, electrification, and sustainability studies
  • Assist with building code and compliance-related projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Energy, or related Engineering field
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and building systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and technical calculations
  • Energy modeling experience preferred
  • EIT, CEM, LEED, or related certifications are a plus

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with candidate qualifications, relevant experience, certifications, and overall fit for the position.
